The Crenshaw Academy is a K–12 college preparatory school, welcoming students from Kindergarten through 12th grade.

Our class sizes are intentionally small. The Lower School maintains a 12:1 student-to-teacher ratio, and the Middle and Upper School maintain a 15:1 ratio. This means teachers know every student individually and can adapt instruction to each child's learning style.

No. The Crenshaw Academy is a secular, non-religious school. Families from all backgrounds and beliefs are welcome, and our curriculum is entirely academically driven.

We believe every child learns differently, and the school's job is to meet students where they are rather than force them into a one-size-fits-all approach. Our classrooms are small and discussion-based, focused on building critical thinking, written and oral communication, problem-solving, and intellectual independence. We do not teach to a test. We teach students to think.

Yes. The Crenshaw Academy holds five active accreditations: SACS/CASI/COGNIA, the Association of Independent Schools of Florida (AISF), the Middle States Association, Accreditation International, and the National Council for Private School Accreditation (NCPSA). Spanish instruction begins in Kindergarten and continues through the Upper School, where students pursue formal language study and continued development. Other languages are offered via FLVS.

Dual enrollment allows students to take college-level courses and earn real college credit while still enrolled at The Crenshaw Academy. Eligible students may begin as early as 6th grade. Juniors and seniors are encouraged to take one to two classes per semester at Valencia Community College or the University of South Florida. To qualify, students must maintain a B average or above, have qualifying scores on the College Board SAT or the PERT, and provide parent permission. Learn more on our Dual Enrollment page.

The Professional Program is our flexible enrollment option for students with demanding schedules outside of school, such as competitive athletes and performers. Students attend like full-time students and receive full academic credit, with scheduling adapted around their outside commitments. Tuition is the same as traditional enrollment. Yes. Our Professional Program was designed specifically for students whose lives do not fit a traditional school calendar: traveling athletes, performers, students who compete seasonally, and families with recurring travel commitments. Yes. Honors courses are available in every discipline at the Upper School level. Students may also pursue independent study for additional credit in areas not covered by the standard curriculum.

Yes. The Crenshaw Academy offers one-on-one after-school tutoring conducted by our own teachers on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays until 4:00 PM. Sessions are $60 per hour, payable directly to the teacher, and are scheduled through the school office. Learn more on our After-School Tutoring page.

The Crenshaw Academy works with students, teachers, and families to find or provide resources that can enrich or extend learning beyond the standard program. Every aspect of our program is designed with college readiness in mind. Small, discussion-based classes build the communication and critical thinking skills universities expect. Honors courses and dual enrollment give Upper School students a genuine academic advantage before they graduate.
