Why Choose The Crenshaw Academy
Choosing a school for your child is one of the most important decisions a family makes. There are a lot of options in the Orlando area, and we believe in being clear about what makes The Crenshaw Academy different; not in vague terms, but in concrete, verifiable ways that matter for your child's education and future.

What Sets Us Apart
The Crenshaw Academy maintains a 12:1 student-to-teacher ratio in the Lower School and 15:1 in the Middle and Upper School. In a class this size, your child is not a number on a seating chart. Teachers know their students deeply, identify learning styles early, and adapt instruction accordingly. The relationships built here are one of the most consistent things families mention when they describe their Crenshaw experience.
The Crenshaw Academy is a non-religious school. Families from all backgrounds and beliefs are equally welcome here. Our curriculum is driven entirely by academic excellence, not by faith affiliation. For families seeking a rigorous private school education without a religious lens, Crenshaw is one of very few options in the area.
The Crenshaw Academy holds five active accreditations: SACS/CASI/COGNIA, the Association of Independent Schools of Florida (AISF), the Middle States Association, Accreditation International, and the National Council for Private School Accreditation (NCPSA). These are not honorary designations. They represent ongoing, independent verification that our program meets rigorous educational standards, and they ensure that your child's transcript and coursework will be recognized by colleges and universities.
Academics Built for the Future
Dual enrollment is available beginning in 6th grade, with juniors and seniors encouraged to take courses at Valencia Community College or the University of South Florida. Our graduates have been accepted to Stanford, Princeton, the University of Florida, and universities around the world. Several have earned full athletic and academic scholarships. The college preparatory path at Crenshaw is not just a promise — it's a track record.
Not every student fits a traditional school schedule, and The Crenshaw Academy has been accommodating that reality for decades. Our Professional Program offers fully flexible enrollment for competitive athletes, performers, and students with demanding outside commitments. Students remain fully enrolled, receive academic credit for their pursuits, and stay eligible for all school activities and graduation. Tuition remains the same as traditional enrollment.
Financial Accessibility
The Crenshaw Academy accepts several scholarship programs that can significantly reduce the cost of tuition, including Step Up for Students scholarships (FES-EO, FES-UA, and FTC) and AAA Scholarship Foundation funds. We also offer tuition payment plans, discounts for active military families, first responders, alumni, and siblings, and a laptop and curriculum are included in enrollment fees. A Crenshaw education is more accessible than many families initially expect.

Rooted in Education Since 1997
Brenda Crenshaw founded this school on the belief that every child deserves an education built around who they are, not what is convenient for the institution. That belief has not changed. The Crenshaw Academy has grown, moved, and evolved over nearly three decades, but the commitment to knowing every student and preparing them for life beyond the classroom remains exactly what it has always been.
