After-School Tutoring
At The Crenshaw Academy, academic support does not end when the school day does. Our after-school tutoring program gives students access to direct, one-on-one help from their own teachers: the people who know their coursework, their learning style, and exactly where they need support.
How It Works
Tutoring sessions are one-on-one and conducted by Crenshaw teachers, ensuring that the support your student receives is directly connected to what is happening in the classroom. There are no outside tutors or unfamiliar faces, just the educators who already know your child.
Sessions are available after school on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays until 4:00 PM. To schedule a session, contact the school office directly. Payment of $60 per hour is made directly to the teacher.
A Natural Extension of the Classroom
Small class sizes mean that Crenshaw teachers already know every student's strengths, challenges, and learning style before a tutoring session ever begins. That foundation makes one-on-one support more efficient and more effective than what most tutoring programs can offer. As Tanya Williams puts it, tutoring at Crenshaw is simply an extension of the individualized attention that defines the school's approach:
"With class sizes of 12:1 in Lower School and 15:1 in Middle and High School, students receive substantial individual attention from faculty.
