Student Life

Clubs & Activities

At The Crenshaw Academy, student life extends well beyond the classroom. Our clubs and activities give students the opportunity to pursue their interests, develop leadership skills, build lasting friendships, and contribute meaningfully to their community. In a small school environment, every student who wants to be involved can be — and every contribution matters.

Student Council

Student Council gives students a direct voice in school life. Members represent their peers, help shape school culture, and develop the leadership, communication, and organizational skills that serve them long after graduation. Participation in Student Council is one of the most meaningful ways a Crenshaw student can make their mark on the school community.

Debate Team

The Debate Team is a natural extension of the discussion-based learning that defines a Crenshaw education. Students sharpen their critical thinking, research, and public speaking skills by constructing and defending arguments on a wide range of topics. Debate builds the kind of intellectual confidence and verbal precision that universities and employers alike recognize and value.

Media Club

Media Club gives students hands-on experience with communication, storytelling, and media production. Whether creating content, documenting school life, or exploring the craft of journalism and visual media, participants develop real-world skills in a creative, collaborative environment.

Cards That Care community service at The Crenshaw Academy

Community Service

The Crenshaw Academy believes that challenging academics and community engagement go hand in hand. Our community service club, Cards That Care, brings students together around a simple, meaningful mission: making cards for children in the hospital. It is a quiet, consistent act of generosity that reflects the values Brenda Crenshaw built this school around.

A Community That Shows Up for Each Other

In a school this size, clubs are not just activities. They are relationships. Students who participate in Crenshaw's clubs and activities are seen, challenged, and supported in ways that larger schools simply cannot replicate. Whether your student is drawn to leadership, debate, creative media, film, or service, there is a place for them here.
