Dual Enrollment

One of the most powerful advantages a Crenshaw education offers is the opportunity to earn real college credit before graduation. Through our dual enrollment program, eligible students can begin taking college-level courses as early as 6th grade, getting a genuine head start on their academic future while still supported by the close-knit community of The Crenshaw Academy.

How Dual Enrollment Works

Dual enrollment allows students to take courses at a college or university while still enrolled at The Crenshaw Academy. The credits earned count toward both their high school transcript and their future college degree, giving students a meaningful advantage before they ever step foot on a college campus.

At The Crenshaw Academy, dual enrollment is available to eligible students beginning in 6th grade. For juniors and seniors specifically, we encourage participation at Valencia Community College or the University of South Florida, where students may take one to two classes per semester.

Eligibility Requirements

To qualify for dual enrollment, students must meet the following requirements:

  • A B average or above
  • Qualifying scores on the College Board SAT or the PERT
  • Parent permission

The experience is one our school community takes genuine pride in. Watching students grow in confidence and maturity through dual enrollment is one of the most rewarding parts of what we do at The Crenshaw Academy.

Why It Matters

A Head Start on College Requirements

Students arrive at university with coursework already completed, saving time and potentially tuition costs.

Real College Experience

Navigating a college campus, managing a college course load, and interacting with college faculty builds the independence and confidence universities expect.

Stronger College Applications

Dual enrollment signals academic seriousness and initiative to admissions officers.

Proven Preparation

Crenshaw students who have completed dual enrollment arrive at college ready to contribute from day one.

Independent Study Options

For students who want to pursue subjects beyond the standard curriculum, The Crenshaw Academy also offers independent study options for additional credit. Our principal works with students, teachers, and families to identify resources that can enrich or extend learning in areas not covered by the regular program.

This is another way The Crenshaw Academy ensures that academically motivated students are never held back by the limits of a standard course catalog.
